Stefanie Huynh

Stefanie Huynh joined Rotary at the beginning of 2020, in search of a way to gain experience and to become a great, effective leader. As a freelancing animator and live events graphics manager, she felt that there was more that she could offer and more that she wanted out of life.

Once she was inducted in the Yorba Linda Sunrise Rotary club, she immediately took part in the Corazon Home Build project where Rotarians from all over Orange County, CA travel to Mexico to build a home with a working toilet and septic tank for a family. She took part at the Food for Families Pantry in Yorba Linda during the pandemic. She also revamped the club’s website, as well as stepped up to manage Zoom and breakout rooms when the pandemic hit in 2020 to help foster more connection between the members. District 5320 had the Face Shield Project spearheaded by Dan Ouweleen (Rotary District 5320 Governor 22-23), in which Stefanie took part in and assisted with operations in the Placentia center.

Stefanie received the Spark Plug Award, reserved for new Rotarians, for being proactive.

In 2021, she was given the role of Sergeant-at-Arms, scheduled weekly speakers, introduced the speakers, personally sent out a newsletter every week to the club, and marketed the club on social media. Stefanie created marketing content for the club’s annual Lobsterfest, which happened to have a record-breaking year. She was also co-chair of the membership committee that was able to bring in twelve new members, and gained an award from Rotary District 5320.

Stefanie unanimously received the Rotarian of the Year award at the end of her term as Sergeant-at-Arms in July of 2022.

With her experience in Rotary, Stefanie saw an opportunity to form a new Rotary club. As someone aspiring to become a leader, this is, without a doubt, a wonderful opportunity. Her main goal for the new club is to become a place where leaders are molded and created. Where people with a passion to become a better version of themselves can go and be amongst like-minded people.
